MOCK INTERVIEWS & CAREER TALKS AT AWS

Schools Industry Partnership, Adrian Rhodes

On 14th June, twenty-four students from Blacktown Boys High School and St Patrick’s College for Girls in Campbelltown had an amazing and inspiring experience on the 37th floor of Amazon Web Services‘ office in the Sydney CBD (With an incredible view!). With the wonderful support of 24 AWS employee volunteers, the students learned about the range of employment opportunities within AWS and the diverse pathways the AWS employees have taken since leaving school. It was clearly evident that career journeys are not linear!  All the students then had an opportunity to practice their job interview skills in a business environment with three AWS volunteers and receive verbal and written feedback.  AWS then provided lunch for everyone and the opportunity for further informal conversations. The feedback from both students, teachers and volunteers who attended was overwhelmingly positive. A common question at the end of the day was “When can we do it again?”  Many thanks to AWS for making it all possible.
