Informal Career Conversations

Share your experience and advice in an informal way, not  up the front! Chat with students during a speed career networking activity, casual panel discussion or career conversation. This could also be a skills demonstration or help with a project depending on your passion and availability.

Informal career conversations are often even more beneficial than formal guest speaking, as they provide a relaxed environment for students to ask questions and explore different pathways and careers. With no pressure to perform in front of their peers, students are able to honestly ask questions of volunteers. 

Due to its relaxed nature, this activity is also perfect for a smaller group setting, such as an open conversation in the school library or a series of career sessions students book into at intervals.
